The Best Summer Activities

Go to a local amusement or water park to catch some rays and for fun in the sun! It's fun, affordable, and all-day entertainment for everyone in the family.

The summer is the most popular season when it comes to concerts and shows. See which of your favorite artists are touring this summer and if they are coming to a town near you. Or check out the music festivals and events that are happening in your area.

Camping is the quintessential summer activity. Gather a group of friends and head out into the wilderness! Most states offer camping at their national and state parks for a reasonable price per night and most campgrounds have running water, electricity, and bathroom facilities. Go hiking, cook s'mores, sing around the campfire, and get in tune with nature!

Volunteer. With school out for the summer, summer kids programs are constantly looking for volunteers to help out; many of these non-profit organizations would not survive without it. From day camps to sports camp to swimming lessons, volunteer to do something that you enjoy. You'll be having fun and doing good at the same time. Check out volunteer positions at your local YMCA or Boys and Girls Club

Hit up the beach. Whether you're landlocked or on the coast, the beach is one of the hottest and most fun places to go in the summer. Catch some waves, build some sand castles, and enjoy hanging out with family and friends on the beach!

Go hiking. Log online and look up popular hiking trails near you. Pack some water and a sack lunch and head out to discover natural beauty right in your backyard.

Have little ones? Help them have a lemonade stand. It's a fun activity and they can earn money while doing it!

Have an ice cream sundae party - what better way to cool off during an unbearably hot summer day?
